These high school sweethearts are nearly newlyweds and I cannot wait to celebrate with them - meet Megan and Sam! I've known Megan and Sam since high school and they are absolutely the kindest couple and so in love with each other. Although going to different colleges, they stayed close and made it through the long distance. These two are meant to be and I'm so honored to call them my friends!
If you like kilts, cats, big families, bagpipes, pretty people and an adorable couple you'll love this wedding day- meet Allie and Andrew! This wedding was such a fun, special and unique day. The morning began in Allie's childhood home. The ladies, including her 4 sisters, enjoyed a morning full of donuts, mimosas, and of course Nelson's sandwiches, the deli a couple blocks away where all the girls worked during high school. We didn't have to go too far for some beautiful spots for photos, we headed down the road to Como Park and then ran across the street to Allie's church for the ceremony. The day continued onto the Macalester College campus with a reception full of sweet speeches, live music, even more bagpipes, kaylee dancing, and a full night of fun!
Congrats to Julie and Troy - These two are celebrating their first year of marriage this month! It was such a a blast photographing their engagement photos and such an honor capturing their beautiful wedding day! These two are so down to earth, friendly, and make each other laugh effortlessly. They're meant to be and congrats on celebrating the first of many years to come!
Kelsey and Matt are the kind of couple I love to work with. They are both such sweet and thoughtful people and even though the temp was in the low 20s, these two were rockstars! We had a great time exploring the area around Minnehaha Falls. They were so great and willing to trudge through snow, take off their warm coats and gloves, and smile and pose as if it were a warm 50 degrees MN day. Although chilly, the weather cooperated, the sun was perfect, and the snow gave us the perfect backdrop. I cannot wait for the beauty, love, (and warmth) of their summer wedding! Congrats you two!
When your best friend gets a horse and asks for a photoshoot... who could resist- Meet Keara! Keara and I have been besties since we were children and the friendship has only grown throughout high school, college, and beyond. Keara has always been an animal lover and grew up with lots of cats, dogs, fish, birds and so much more!
This little guy is so full of energy, joy and love- meet baby Jacob. In these cold months of winter, it is a perfect time to go through the blogs that never were, the fun shoots that didn't get their time to shine and boy does this little guy deserve his time! Baby Jacob is almost a year now, but this throwback blog captures all those small, unique and adorable features when he was oh so little!
This blog is a throwback to this time last year with the sweetest couple out there, Sophie and James. This time last year, with Sophie nearly 8 months pregnant, these two happily trudged up hill through a foot of snow to make this shoot happen and wow am I glad it did! I don't get to do a lot of maternity shoots, but there is something special about the excitement and anticipation of expecting parents. You can see in every photo the joy and pure love these two have for each other and for their child.
The cold couldn't stop these two- meet Maddy and Aaron! Although chilly, it was a great day exploring the Como Park area around Como Conservatory. Maddy and Aaron (and myself!) grew up just blocks from this area and we have all loved all the trails, the lake, pool, and of course Como Zoo; so what a great place to explore for their winter engagement shoot!
A year ago I got the surprise of a lifetime and my best friend asked me to marry him. Graham and I had been dating for nearly 6 years, so I may have had some high expectations and wow, did he blow me out of the water! The day was absolutely perfect, from a morning of shopping with my besties, to a surprise phone call from my London-living BFF, to a thoughtful scavenger hunt around the cities that ended with Graham, dressed up, smiling, and down on one knee, waiting for me in front of the altar at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. St. Rose is where we met as kindergarteners, grew up together, and is where we would exchange our vows a year later. From start to finish, it was an incredible and memorable day.
Meet Megan and Khris! Megan came to Winona for college and Khris grew up in Winona and then moved away for college. Luckily, their paths crossed while working at the hospital in town. From the stories I have heard, it sounded like they had a special connection from day one. Let's flash forward to the most beautiful, sweet, and fun day where these two exchanged their vows and decided to spend the rest of their lives together.
This park is not only beautiful and hidden away in the bluffs, but this is the park where these two not only had their first date but also where Tim proposed to Jen! He made her a picnic and they sat under the same tree they had sat under for their very first date in college. What a special place to come back to and one that I had a blast shooting!
